Abstract: The COVID-19 pandemic has significantly impacted education systems worldwide. This qualitative study examines the adjustment of secondary school students to school life after the pandemic. The research aims to explore the experiences, perspectives, and challenges faced by students during the transition back to in-person schooling. The study utilizes semi-structured interviews to gather data, allowing for in-depth exploration of participants' adjustment experiences. A diverse group of secondary school students from different schools and years is selected using purposive sampling. Thematic analysis is employed to identify common themes and patterns in the data. The findings indicate that students encountered various challenges during their adjustment to school life after the pandemic, including re-establishing social connections, adapting to changes in teaching methods, managing academic pressures, and addressing their mental and emotional well-being. The study highlights the importance of understanding and addressing these challenges to support students in their transition. The research contributes to the existing literature by providing valuable insights into the experiences and perspectives of secondary school students during the post-pandemic adjustment period. The findings can inform educational policies, practices, and support systems to facilitate a smooth transition and enhance students' well-being in the aftermath of the pandemic. Understanding how secondary school students adjust to the new realities of post-pandemic schooling is crucial for school, teaching staff, social workers, and policymakers to effectively support their needs and promote their academic and emotional success.
